Go for the Friday fish fry!! I went for the first time with my boyfriends family over winter break and I left full and happy. Our table had both cod and perch - you can't go wrong with either! Meal comes out HOT and fresh! A fish fry dinner comes with salad or coleslaw and baked potato or french fries. This country bar also has a juke box and club keno lottery game which was fun for the family. I can definitely see how it's a family favorite and I can't wait to go back!
We brought my Mom here for a delicious fish supper. She met myDad here back in the mid-40s and it's a very wonderful and sentimental journey. This time around we had a delicious fish supper and very friendly service. Thanks Hoover's!
A local gem, the place to go for Friday Night fish! Rustic bar in the middle of nowhere and you sometimes have to wait for a table-- that's how good it is. Affordable, generous portions, family friendly, too.
I admit am biased towards this place as my mom was working here in 1943 and met my dad who was a customer. It's a real old-time country bar with good food and good prices. Whenever our family has an occasion to celebrate this is our go to place. Hoovers started in the early 1930's and then burgers and beers were 10 cents each!
Food is delicious, price is right and atmosphere is rustic. Get it to go if you have to, just eat it!
NOT CLOSED!!! They open at 11am daily!! Friday night fish fry as good as ever and very cold beer!! The locals are coming in to enjoy the smoke free bar and play a little pool or keno. Matt & Mandy Blaha are the owners of Hoovers.
